A Case of Riedel´s Thyroiditis

Abstract

|
|
A case of Riedel´s thyroiditis is reported in view of the rarity of its kind. The patient was 45 year old Korean male who had been suffered from a gradually growing, hard mass in the anterior aspect of the neck for 7 months. At a local clinic, total thyroidectomy was performed under the diagnosis of a malignant tumor of the thyroid. The submitted tissue was studied both macroscopically and microscopically and was confirmed to be consistent with Riedel´s thyroiditis.
